"As a Sunshine Coast fashion designer I am surrounded by inspiration to create and provide women with trans-seasonal lifestyle clothing."

Simone Leete

MiMi FiRST® launched in March 2008 as online boutique filled with trans-seasonal lifestyle and designer womens clothing. Since then MiMi FiRST® has created a range of womens lifestyle wear and award winning race wear designs.

MiMi FiRST® finished in the top 10 finalist position for the exclusive invitation only Fashions on the Field Design Awards in November 2008, for Melbourne Cup Spring Carnival and also in March 2009 for Sydney’s Golden Slipper Autumn racing carnival.

MiMi FiRST® also designs one off pieces with commissions for private clients.

Simone Leete is the woman behind MiMi FiRST®. Based on the Sunshine Coast in QLD Australia, Simone draws her inspiration from the vibrant coastal lifestyle and creativity of the region. After formally training in fashion design, millinery and textiles; Simone travelled the world where she worked in high end boutiques and developed the colourful and unique signature style that is MiMi FiRST®.

The ensuing years saw Simone working behind the scenes in wardrobe departments for World Expo 88, Royal Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland Ballet, Lyric Opera and even creating and dressing the likes of Benny Banana and Gloria Grape for local festivals.

Simone comments that "It has taken a life time of designing, creating and styling to arrive at this point. I started making jewelry from licorice all sorts and iced Vovo’s before graduating to whipping up outfits to wear for a night on the town. Needless to say I have experienced the occasional wardrobe malfunction!"

Simone was selected as a finalist in the Sunshine Coast micro/small business woman of the year in August 2009, and accepted into the mentor program with Creative Enterprise Australia. Simone gives back to the community through charitable events and mentoring local school students in fashion and textile design.

Allow me to give you some insight into the mad, mad world of MiMi FiRST® and the woman behind the online boutique filled with designer womens clothing…

It has taken a life time of designing, creating and styling to arrive at this point. I started making jewelry from licorice all sorts and iced Vovo’s before graduating to whipping up outfits to wear for a night on the town. Needless to say I have experienced the occasional wardrobe malfunction!

The ensuing years saw me working behind the scenes in wardrobe departments for World Expo 88, Royal Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland Ballet, Lyric Opera and even creating and dressing the likes of Benny Banana and Gloria grape for local festivals.

I have studied fashion design and completed courses in millinery and textiles. My former years took me travelling and working around the world in high end boutiques.

All this and more has led to the MiMi FiRST® fashion launch in March 2008, has seen MiMi FiRST® race wear designs finish in the top10 finalist position for the exclusive invitation only Fashions on the Field Design Awards, in November 2008, for Melbourne Cup Spring Carnival and  also in March 2009 for Sydney’s Golden Slipper Autumn racing carnival.
I am very proud to have been selected as a finalist in the Sunshine Coast micro/small business woman of the year in August 2009.

Amongst all of the designing and celebrating MiMi FiRST® has served as a fantastic vehicle to raise thousands of dollars and helped to create create awareness for local charity by organising fashion parades and styling events that have been fashionable fundraising fun occasions for all involved.
